I use Windows XP embedded on two different pieces of hardware, Wyse V90's
and Termtek TK-535 running Windows XP embedded 2002 and Window XP embedded
Service Pack 2. Since the daylight saving time change on April 2nd, each
time they reboot, the time moves ahead one hour.
It seems that, later in the day, if I reboot the computers, sometimes they
fix themselves.
I disable write filer, log into the computers administratively, change the
time and reboot, enabling the write filter. Sometimes they hold onto the
correct time, sometimes they immediately advance 1 hour.
On the Control Panel, Date and Time Properties, on the Internet Time tab,
the Server is set to time.windows.com. When I click on time.windows.com.
Sometimes, I get the following error message:
An error occurred while Windows was synchronizing with time.windows.com.
This operation returned because the timeout period expired.
I worked with my network people. They explicitly opened UDP port 123 on our
firewalls. This seems to have allowed the client to synchronized when Update
Now is clicked, but the computers continue to move ahead one hour on reboot.
