Omnipage SE

Has anyone had any luck in installing Omnipage SE, for a Canon LIDE 80, in
Vista?

I have been chasing around in circles Canon say do not install from CD,
which it wont anyway, as it 'reports process interrupted' but not what:-((

Nuance Omnipage SE upgrade says to install then uninstall from CD then run
upgrade. Any problems contact Canon.

Contacting Canon they say disable virus killers etc. which I have done and
then say nothing to do with them contact Nuance who want money to give help.

Looks like Nuance are not talking to Canon and vice versa.

Cannot justify paying for the full versions as only occasional use and being
a pensioner as well does not help.

Any suggestions please.

Here is an idea. Contact Canon.

Did you do a search on Omnipage SE in GOOGLE? I did and came up with some
suggestions. Did you try those?

As I mentioned in my message above have contacted Canon ... now 4 times and
their web site keeps crashing they say contact Nuance and do not install from
CD Nuance say install from CD then uninstall.
Spent hours on the web trying to resolve hoping that some one else can help
me as I cannot be the only one, can I!!
 
Have you tried emailing the mfgr? Maybe they'll send you the new software
disk.
(Just don't let them know you're gonna buy a new machine if they don't.)

downloaded the upgrade form the canon download site. It will not insatll
because it cannot find the original version to upgrade. This is a
classic and shows that no one has bothered to think of this problem.
Does anyone know what element of the old version the up-grade looks for?
I know it might be a state secret but It will take me too long to
reverse engineer the confounded program to find it. Thanks
