How much better are these drivers than the ones that ATI puts out?
I realize that the omega drivers are based on the catalyst ones, but I am
just curious.
Do they fix others problems that the cat's don't or are they just
streamlined to put out extra FPSs?
TIA for the help.

You may want to read the info on the website you can download
them from. Omegas are about visual quality not speed, so you
could argue it 'fixes' some things if that's what you're
after.

Some people find they resolve problems they experience with
the official drivers, but that's not an across the board
thing by any means.

They are for gamers not speedsters. They are optimized for games. Benchmarks
have been known to be lower.

They do seem to cause fewer installation problems. The latest appear
to have lower my 3DMark01 score slightly compared to the previous
version but may be improving image quality (tank explosions in UT2004
seem a little better).
