Hiya all,

Understand these are optimised - what is your experience with them? Worth
trying?

Many thanks, Shawk.

No, they used to be good but not anymore, I got a 10 points increase on 3d
mark 03 with a 9700 pro and lots of problems with 2d corruption (best way to
describe it, blue things etc when highlighting stuff etc instead of normal
grey), the 9800 mod didn't work either. These drivers used to be good (back
in my radeon 64mb DDR days) but not anymore. Not worth the hassle at all....

Thanks for the quick feedback - appreciate it.

Many (like me) have had great results with these drivers,
some fewer have had issues with them on their sys.

They are for playing games with mostly performance in
mind. They are not tweeked for benchmarks, some
(like me) would say this is a good thing, others not.

Because of the many sys and operating environments,
the "standard" optimizations that are on the Omega
drivers (as downloaded) may need to be adjusted
for your particular setup/utilization. This is seldom
required and most often a minor tweek.

Luck,
Ken

Except this time very few peeps are reporting any gains and very much
reporting a problem...Check out the omega site and the link for the boards
for any confirmation of this....

Read his readme file and you'll get your answers. These posts are wrong,
the drivers are optimised for image quality in games.

They work 100% here on this 9700NP, with the 9800 mod. No 2D or 3D
corruption, card still overclocks to 324/324 fine.
Sounds like you have serious Registry or Hardware problems or
everyone would be reporting you're problems on the Omega forums.

no idea and should be on a Mac with someone holding there hand *8)

They worked great for me too.

Even the most recent ones looked great and with no problems
Radeon 9700 Pro and Windows XP.

9700 Pro and XP here, had some problems with the installation, locked up two
or three times during install, a couple of times in Windows during restart,
then rebooted and ran with no further problems.

Except that it was bad feedback. There is nothing wrong with the drivers and you
should try them out yourself. Most people don't have a clue on how to install
these correctly. Do yourself a favor and check them out..but read the readme
first.

They are not designed for "GAINS" but for Image Quality. When you have a high
end card.. loosing a handful of fps vs. higher image quality, it doesn't matter.

I will ONLY use Omega drivers with my ATI 9700 PRO and always wait for his
version of the latest CATs.

I'm using the latest Omega drivers on a 9800pro and haven't noticed
any such problems, yet.

I have a 9700 pro, and always use Omega drivers, never had a problem, always
runs smoothly, very stable drivers.

Many thanks to all for the feedback - on balance it looked like it was worth
trying so d-loaded and loaded them tonight. Havent had chance to do too
much with them so far except try the Call of Duty demo and AVP2. So far
solid as a rock.

Cheers, Shawk.
