Sorry if I'm being thick.

I have a Hercules 9700Pro,
and have always had display problems with medal of honour (black rectangles
of sky/background). see here for example
http://www.btinternet.com/~heshoots/mohaa.htm

have tried all settings etc (even AGP aperture in BIOS) all no good.

Started at cat 3.6 and am now using cat 3.9.

makes no difference at all.

What are omega drivers - are they different to the ati catalyst ones?

If so, what version should I download, and where from?

many thanks

See my final post on the 9700 Pro grief thread below. It may or may not be
helpful, in particular the part about removing old ATI registry files when
after uninstalling the older drivers.

I don't play games, but I need stability. I don't have any scientific
explanation for this, but I tried 3 different Catalyst versions and all
had various problems, the one that came on the Gigabyte cd was a total
disaster I wonder how they get away with this. I installed the Omega
drivers and the situation improved dramatically.

I have had nothing but grief with the Omega drivers, using both ATI and
nVidia boards. How this one person thinks he can write better drivers than
the designer and manufacturer of a video board is beyond my comprehension,
but in my experience, he can't.

although I'm not using them now, I found the Omega drivers did stop the
trees in FS2004 from shimmering. I'm using the ATI 3.9s currently and would
use the Omegas again, if I had not grown tired of messing about with my
system after screwing up my registry on a recent inept driver update.

Fred Omega seems to be having a nasty attack of Christianity. I do hope he
gets well soon.

He doesn't write the drivers he just tweaks the released nvidia/ati drivers.
I have used them for about 2 years now with no probs at all.
