OLK3 & Rules

Dan

I am having a problem with OLK3 and Rules. I setup a rule
to check each email that comes in for certain words unless
the email is from someone in my contacts. Each time email
arrives, I get a popup from Outlook saying something is
trying to access my address book and it may be a virus. I
have figured out it is the rules running. I know it is
not a virus becuase I stay fully patched on the firewall,
antivirus, and Microsoft and I have run a full scan. Odd
thing is that if I go into the rule and run it manually,
it does not do it.

It is definitely the rules causing the problem. I get
exactly one popup for each message in my Inbox.

If it was the rules, the manual execution of the rules would trigger the
same response. Any virus checking (or other email addin) would probably
execute once for each email also.

Have a look in
Tools > Options > Other > advanced >COM Add-ins and see if anything is
installed there.

Cheers

As I said I've got the same 'feature' and what's causing it is a piece of
software that came with my laptop that illuminates an LED when there are new
messages. Basically I've got to remove the program from the startup, there
is no way around it.

The only other thing I can suggest is to look at the programs in your
startup menu and see if there are any other little utilities auto starting
in there.

Sorry I can't help any more.

Cheers
