i have this progam that mcafee keeps finding. it is in
c\\wondows\system32\olescn32.dll and mcafee says it is e-
blaster. i know what e-blaster is and what it does, but
does anyone know what is olescn32.dll ? and i am not
completely sure what a .dll file extension is. i cant
delte it, mcafee cant clean it. if i quaratine it and
then scan again it is still there. i tried to shred it
with quick clean. access is denied is the message i get.
mcafee says to reboot in safe mode and delete it. ok, i
can do this, but what is it? it would be nice to know i
am not trashing my pc by safe deleting it. thanks in
advance.

If you know what e-blaster is and does, then I am assuming
you downloaded the software and thus the .dll file.McAfee
is seeing it as spyware or virus.Try uninstalling eblast
and see if that clears up your problem.....Good luck.

so is a .dll file extension a downloaded file? i do not
have e-blaster installed on my pc. and i did not
knowingly download it. e-blaster is a remotely deployable
keystroke logger and email, im, application, web site
moniter. since it is a .dll file is it safe to assume
that this file was sent or otherwise unwittingly
downloaded and installed? and i did reboot in safe and
manually delete it. actually i sent it to recycle. then
rebooted normally, and ran shredder at 50 passes on the
recycle bin to be sure it is gone or otherwise unusable.

Try running Spybot and see what it comes up with.Make
sure you run the update after you down load before you
run the program on your machine. If a file
called "Insight" or a variation of sort comes up,delete
it.Eblaster sounds like a tough one to get rid of,you may
need to do some reg cleaning...Good luck.
