Older powerpoint version compatibility

I am trying to use a Powerpoint template for the 2006 version called
"Presentation for science fair project "
However I have Office 2003, even after downloading the compatibility
software it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

What you get if you download this template without having PowerPoint 2007
installed is a cab-file. This is a packed file, which you can unzip using
WinZip or similar programs. You then get a POTX file (plus content.inf),
which should open in PowerPoint 2003 with the compatibility pack without
problems. At least I can see and use it here in 2003.

If you still can't use the unzipped file, please make sure that the latest
updates for Office 2003 (at least Service Pack 2) are installed.
