You are probably like me in this situation and it is not just older games but
cheap games or non RPG big money maker games.. i have read MS went to alot of
trouble to make vista compatable with WOW, AC, Halo etc but those of us who
have older or cheaper games ie. the yahoo, msn, oberon download games, nancy
drew games, older sim games are just out of luck unless the manufacturer of
the game prepares a fix in which we will prob have to buy an entirely new
game to play. in my search for fixes, causes and such i also read that vista
won't even play some of the games on the MS zone game site.. tells you how
important some pple are in comparison to the big gamer.. p.s. nothing
personal to the big gamer i used to be one. . in fact played ac, wow, linage
and more but can not anymore due to health issues so the enjoyment i get is
now limited to these lesser games and i am very angry MS overlooked us in
their quest for a great gaming OS.. makes me wish i had not bought my new
computer.

What older games are you having trouble with. I installed and played
WarCraft 3, which is a 1999 game. I have Math Blaster 12 running, The girl
friend plays Hoyles Card game. I don't do alot of the MSN style games, but
so far, I haven't found a game that doesn't work.

cake mania
all three mfc games
fish tycoon
sim theme park
sim tower
family fued
hidden treasure titanic
and others of similar style. i got one of the nancy drew's to work with a
change in the install to change the path of install. (found this hint on the
her interactive DB).
this is just a few of the games but some of my faves.

some are full retail bought at stores some are where you download the trial
version then pay for the full version for which i have paid for all of them.
2 i paid for just this past wk a few days prior to new comp being bought

We have attempted to install the "Nancy Drew - Message in the haunted
mansion" game. The first software install on a New Vista Gateway and received
an error message that it could not find our ini. file in the "c" drive. From
the posting it appears that we may also be out of luck. Any advice would be
appreciated. Thanks, Bob
