Older games crash in play, -mabey solution-

I as well have this problem.
I currently can not test this, but it's logical.

-Maybe solution-
Make a FAT32 partition on your HDD and install your games
there. (XP installs a NTFS file system)

There is no difference between NTFS and FAT32 in that realm. Older games
may require Compatibility Mode, but the critical portion really is
installing in the folder structure the game expects so sometimes
Compatibility is needed from the install portion also.
 
A lot of older games require complete access to Windows (No, not direct
access to the hardware) and require to be installed (and ran) from an
administrator type account. Limited user account do not give the complete
access to Windows which most older games require.
