Is it possible to use either an All-in-Wonder Pro or an All-in-Wonder
128 with Windows XP, using the tuner feature (e.g. MMC) ?

What I gather from the web site is that you can use it as a basic video
card, but that you can't use the tuner or capture features. However,
the web site has a tendency to be conservative when telling you what you
can and can't do, for example the AIW Radeion 8500 is not listed as
supporting Win98, but in fact it does work just fine (well, for SE, anyway).

Has anyone actually TRIED an AIW Pro or AIW 128 under XP with MMC?

Me Me Me...

I got an 8meg AIW Pro (RagePro) running MMC version 7.6 and XP Pro.
Everything but the file library works, it gives me and error, but I can
record my shows every day while I'm at work with no problems.

MMC 7.6
TV Tuner 7.7
VCD player 7.6
CD Player 7.6
File Player 7.6

AIW 128 works fine... I was using one until November (when I got a 8500DV)

AIW Pro, no idea...

Any reason you didn't go to 7.7 of the MMC ... or even 8.x?

This is a bit late, SW, but there's a fix for the Library not working.
There's a file called atioops.dll (I kid you not) missing - for some reason
this file is missing in all versions of MMC 7.x with Library. If you have a
look on the Rage3D forum, there's a thread with a link to download the file
and instructions on installing it.

Oddly, I always found that with Library installed and atioops.dll missing,
the other apps tended to be a lot more temperamental - I always just didn't
install Library until I heard of the fix. That's a good point, by the way -
when you have an install with a Custom option, always take it. It's useful
just to see what you're installing, and often even more useful to leave out
what you don't really want. I always leave out the ATi CD player, for
instance; I have better ones on my system, and the ATi apps are real file
association hogs.
