Ok, do a search over the registry for the name that appears in the dialog box.

Try right-click on the desktop, selecting Properties, and now you should see your wallpaper in the little window. Press the Browse button and the dialog box will tell you where Windows is getting the image from. At least, it does for me.

"Cody" <none> wrote in message Hello friends, I have this strange problem on my windows 2000 pro desktop. I
used to have an old wallpaper for my desktop which I think I deleted, but
everytime I startup my machine or shutdown that old wall paper shows up as
the desktop background. Any ideas how to get rid of it.
Thanks for you help.
