Hi all,
I'm upgrading my younger son's system with a 9gig 10k scsi drive
(had the drive laying around), and upgrading his OS from ME to 2K.
I had wanted to keep his old STB velocity 4400 video card but am having
problems with it in 2K
Specs;
AMD K62 500
DFI K6BV3+ mobo
393 meg of ram
Adaptec 2940UW
9 gig Fujitsu scsi (mag3091 I think)
Diamond Monster MX300

That's the majority of it. Problem is it worked fine in WinME. With an apparent
good install of 2K all is fine until the system goes ot the desktop. Then I get a blank screen.
Waiting won't fix it. The only way I can do anything with it is to hit F8 and run the VGA option.
Of course the wallpaper looks like crap. Changing the color depth or resolution has 2K
claiming it's been changed but there is no change. It even keeps the video settings from
boot to boot but doesn't fool me. Anyone have any suggestions on running this antique
video card in 2K? Has anyone been successful doing that?

FYI the Velocity 4400 never had drivers for Windows 2000.
that video card was out of production before windows 2000
came about.

as matter of fact STB/3dfx went out of business right
after Windows 2000 was released
