I need to replace my studio computer, but I love the old
sound card: MultiWav Pro 24. The most recent driver
upgrade is for win98. Is this going to work in XP? Or am
I going to have to replace the card? I understand the
company is no longer in business and the only support I
can find is on yahoo geocities. Is the technology to old?

I'm not sure, but as the company is defunct, and the Windows hardware
catalog doesn't list anything from Multiwav,

you may be out of luck. Some hardware from dead companies (3dfx, for
example) have enough users out there that some have tried to produce XP
drivers, but high-end sound cards just aren't that widely used.

Sorry that I can't be more encouraging.

Hello Vicki,

Some sound card models have a chipset that is compatible with alternative
drivers as well.

Do you have any specifications for your sound card in this regard? If so,
maybe you could use an alternative driver.
