Why not turn it into a home security / power conservation monitor. If the timex
1000 can do it, a DOS machine can almost do it.

There are numerous uses depending on what your needs/wants are.
For example you might want to create a hardware firewall. It's easy

You might want to have a system to learn how to run another OS like Linux on
or to use as a test system for downloads.
Or use it to provide a system for kids or guests to use.

Personally I have 5 systems running at home. I have one system that I use
exclusively for music. I've ripped all my music to a 20GB hard drive,
connected my sound card to a stereo system and I pump music to speakers all
over my house. I set up playlists and I have a real blast with it. You just
need a good sound card and a stable OS like Windows 2000/XP or Linux so it
isn't crashing.

Or you might want to have a second system available that you can easily
connect to the internet to troubleshoot problems in the event that your main
computer goes down.
