I'm trying to run an old program. According to the MS Help, I should be able
to right click on the .exe file and udder properties I should see a
COMPATIBILITY tab. However, on my computer, I do not see this tab.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

If it is a DOS game the compatibility option probably isn't going to be
available, and there is no point in bothering with that anyway since
compatibility mode only works with Windows based programs. There is a
program called VDMSound which emulates legacy soundcards for old DOS games
that require them. You might also have to set certain options before it will
start, but many DOS programs simply will not work with XP, so if the game
will not even start you will probably have to run it from a DOS startup
disk.

If you could post the name of the game someone might know how to get it
running.

To find a Comptability tab, right click on the program's *shortcut.*
