Old Problem p2b escd error

Have a p2b with PII 350
Error- can't write ESCD during post start-up.
I have had the error for 2 or 3 years now.
Never found a solution,still curious.
Did anybody ever find a solution?

Have you tried ruling out faulty hardware, specifically, faulty PCI
and/or ISA cards? Try removing them one by one and see if the
error/problem goes away. In addition:

Have you flashed the BIOS to the latest available? That usually
clears the problem message.
 
This may sound strange but delete your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and create a new
empty one with note pad and the problem may go away. I had a similar problem
and the above solved it.

Flashed the Bios many many times.
Interchanged cards- No Luck
have not tried the battery or the autoexec change.
Will try.
