Old POS computers

I went to Circuit City today, and they had 3 old DigiPOS systems for
sale at $35.
Is anyone familiar with what they might have under the hood? I was
thinking I might pick one up for a low-volume file server or such
like.

Heh.

As far as the website goes, the closest one in appearance is the
"DigiPoS Retail Active Series" but I could not see a model number, and
assume the ones from Circuit City are older models in any case.

I would expect a POS terminal to be a thin client (as in diskless),
therefore sort-of the opposite of a file server, but o' course that
doesn't make it so.
