Hi:

I have an old version of Lexmark inkjet printer, which stopped
printing in color since I refilled the color ink cartridge two weeks
ago. I have been cleaning the printheads on the cartridge and wonder
if I should clean the copper printheads on the printer behind where
the cartridge is seated. When I place the cartridge on a paper towel
color does show up. When I try to clean the print nozzles. nothing
but black or navy shows up. I cleaned the printheads with a q-tip
dipped in alcohol,

I would sure appreciate any advice you could give me.

TIA

You should try placing the cartridge on a dampened with warm water
quality paper towel and try pressing the head surface gently against the
towel and see if you can get ink from all colors coming out.

Yes, also clean any contact points between the printer and the cartridge
with some rubbing alcohol and a swab. Allow the contacts to dry well
before reinstalling.

Hi Art:

Thanks for taking time to answer my question.

I now have my cartridge on a pile of warm Viva papertowels. Wish me
luck.

Don't let it sit on a "pile" of paper towels for too long, it could rain
the cartridge ink considerably. the idea is to just verify the ink is
flowing correctly.
