Old Image Mapping Screwing up Image Replacement

NewestShareware.com - Michael Dulin

Hi,

I decided to change logo files on all of my thousands of pages.

So I just imported the new images into the folders where the old ones
where and gave them the same name as the old images so that I wouldn't
have to go through all of those pages and change them one by one.

Unfortunately the old images from god knows what version of FrontPage
had been mapped so that they could be linked.

So what has happened is that the mapping somehow has effected the new
images and squeezes them into the mapping and makes them look pretty
bad.

Here you can see and example:
http://SharewareJunkies.com/02zwd5/cryptainer.htm

On the left is the squeezed mapped one, on the right the way it should
appear.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

Thanks,
Mike

The replacement image must be the exact pixel width and height of the image it is replacing.

Thomas,
The replacement image must be the exact pixel width and height of the image it is replacing.
I was thinking that could be a possibility.

Is it the only option? No search and replace possibilities?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, you can use search and replace to correct the img src tag width and height values.

Thomas,
Yes, you can use search and replace to correct the img src tag width and height values.
So where there is this:
usemap="#FPMap0" width="108" height="105"></p>

I can just search and replace the number values and be ok?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, and it should work ok.

usemap="#FPMap0" width="108" height="105">

In the future you may want to consider change this to be a FP Include Page, then you would only have
to update a single page.
