I have this game Sanitarium from years ago that I loved...ran fine on
95/98...but I cant get it to go on 2000. Is there anything I can do,
download, or tweek that will run it?

If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

I just installed it on my system running Win2k with Service Pack 4
installed. While the readme.txt and the pop-up box said it didn't
support Windows NT, it has installed and run well for me.

I've also got DirectX 9.0b installed. Many games like this one that
want a version of DirectX earlier than ver 7.0 will not run at all on
the later version. But as I just stated it has installed and run well
for me just now.

I'd suggest running dxdiag.exe to check for a good DirectX install.
Make sure you're runnning the correct drivers for your video card, and
if not upgrade and install them. And the last thing is to be sure you
have at least Service Pack 3 installed to your Windows 2000 system.
That service pack improved Win2k's compatibility with many 'NT not
supported' games.

And you can find the patch for the Chapter 2 lockup here:

I'm totally up to date on all that. When I ran it, it kind of
worked....but the framing was off...everything was shifted to the top of
the screen instead of centered and once the game play began it would
pretty much freeze up fairly quickly. I tried using the apcompat.exe
tool and I couldnt even get it to load w/ that.
