BlankI have some programs that state compatible with Windows 95/98/NT. I
have XP and wonder if these programs will work. If so, what do I have to do
to get them compatible with XP.

Thanks...

They might run fine on XP. If not right click the installer and select
Properties->Compatibility mode. Use Windows NT

You might also wish to see if the programs are listed here

They may work just fine. If not try right clicking on the .exe file and
select properties -> Compatibility tab. Then see the compatibility mode
option.

Since you didn't specify what programs these are, it's impossible
to answer for sure. However most, if not all, of these should
work without a problem. Almost certainly those that work with 98
and NT will work with NT. If they don't work directly, they can
likely be run in compatibility mode.

The two major exceptions to this are disk utilities and some
games. These are much less likely to work.

If these programs are currently installed on your system, try
running the free Microsoft Upgrade Advisor at

If possible, check the home websites for those programs before installing
them. The sites may have information on whether the program works with XP
or not. They may also have released an XP compatible version or provided a
downloadable update that enables the program to run under XP. The update
(or new version) may be free or there may be a fee.

Thank you all for your advise. Since my system is working great, I'm not
going to fool around with it and install something that may not be
compatible. Will return it and get one that is.
