Was running Windows 98, downloaded all files to floppies
and Windows XP, home edition can not read those files.
Why? and does this mean I've lost all my records?

What do you mean by "can not read those files"?

Do you mean that when you put one of the disks into the Windows XP
computer that Windows Explorer cannot access the disk in order to list
the files that it contains?

Or do you mean that the files can be listed but they will not open
when you double-click on them?

The first problem is most likely caused by a defective 3.5 inch
diskette drive, either in the old or the new computer (or both).

The second problem would indicate that the particular application
program that you used to create these files is not installed on the
Windows XP computer and therefore you need to install whatever program
that is so as to be able to use the files.

Good luck
