G'Day All!

I recently showed a Neighbour the Accessibility Wizard.

Although I 'Cancel'led, and indicated that I wanted to cancel
changes already made, I now have:

Widened Cursor in 'Password' box on Welcome Screen
Enlarged Icons in SysTray
Increased vertical spacing in Start/All Programs Menus
Regedit etc.

I could use some advice on Nuking the Registry!

That wizard has been known to make changes when you just peek in it. Sorry
to hear you ran into this problem. Try Accessibilities in Control Panel,
turn off any options related to display that show as enabled. If you still
have overly large elements, here are some other things to check:

Check in Display> Appearance to be sure that "normal" is set as font size.
Check in Appearance> Advanced for a "standard" sized scheme. Go to
Appearance> Effects to uncheck "large icons." In Display> Settings>
Advanced, check that 96 DPI is selected. Also, in Mouse> Pointers, make
sure a default sized scheme is selected for pointers including the I beam
(cursor).

There's a "large icons" settings in Taskbar/Start Menu Propterties> Start
Menu> Customize that may have been changed. And if using a toolbar, right
click within in its boundaries and select View to see if Large icons were
enabled here too.

If still stuck with too large of a cursor, I have a vague recollection of a
user reporting back here in the newsgroups that they were able to rectify
the problem this way: Start> Run> CMD Right click the title bar of the
command prompt window and select Properties. On the Options page select
Small for Cursor size.

Sharon - You are definitely made of the Right Stuff!!!

Check in Display> Appearance to be sure that "normal" is set as font size.

I didn't actually change anything but, having played this game before,
I clicked on 'Apply' - Xp went away for several seconds, an all
was then well.

Many Thanks from The Old Fart!!

When things go bad, you can use "System Restore":-

Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore

and select a restore point date before things went wrong.

This always works for me.

But you may have to reinstal any programs installed after the restore
date.
