I tried to install Windows XP Epson perfection 610 driver (32bit) on
Windows Vista (32bit), but it failed. Will Epson release a new driver
for Vista for this old scanner? Or is there any way to use XP's driver
on Vista? Or there's no way but to throw the scanner away?

You will have to ask Epson if they are going to support the older scanner on
Windows Vista.

I don't know if you can use the 32 bit driver on Vista. If Microsoft kept
the ability to use compatible mode, maybe.

Vista is not released yet, so it is too early to tell what drivers will be
made available.

Search Windows Help for:
Getting older programs to run on Windows XP

The above is from Windows XP Home not Vista.
