Hello all,

Any idea how to get a Texas Instrument Omni 810 RO dot
matrix printer to work with XP? I've been able to get the
printer to work with '98 by setting the default printer
as "generic text" printer. It did not work with XP. This
printer is a serial printer and is connected to the com1
port on my '98 machine.

Any suggestions on how to get it to work with XP?

My assumption is that the serial part does not work. The com port
configuration by default is configured more for modems than serial printers.
Verify the baudrate and Flow Control (handshake) setting are the same as
those on the printer. If you are using a 25 to 9 pin serial adapter it
cannot be one designed for a mouse since not all the pins are enabled.

Patience is in great demand when dealing with serial printing.
