Windows XP won't let open or even view a folder and its
subfolders. The error message is "\documents and
settings\jjh is not accessible. Access is denied." Here
are the details:

This folder is on the F drive in a new computer.

This drive was from my last computer on which it was the
D drive and the boot drive with Windows XP and all
programs.

All this data is still there but the new computer boots
from the C drive on which there is a new copy of windows
XP. This C drive is also new.

This uncooperative folder is f:\documents and
settings\jjh; it was the administrator's (my) folder on
the old computer and was password protected. I assume
that is the problem.

How do I get at the files in this folder?

Those files and folders belong to the account they were created for. You
will need to be logged on as an administrator and then you need to take
ownership of the old Documents and Settings files and folders.
