As far as i'm aware a 9600GT will not fit into board.

There is a lot of confusion over this because Dell do not officially support PCI-E cards even though they put one on their boards. The PCI-E slot on the boards will not accompany a full PCI-E card. It is in so many words too small and configured wrong. They only supply x8 slots on their boards and do not support x16 even though the board says x16 on it, it is not!

The Dell poweredge I have has PCI-E slot my Sapre card will not fit it unless modifications are made. However to make those modifications you have to hack at the PCI-E slot to fit the card in. Even then some of the card hangs over the back end so using it pointless. Don't get me wron apparently it works however you wont get its true bandwidth due to the rest of the pins holding the extra bandwidth are at the back as I believe.

This may well have changed by now, however I remain sceptical

thanks 4 the quick reply my pc is actaully meant for home use and according to gpuz my graphics card is pci express x16 and on the manufacterers site it says its the worlds 1st pcie x16 card or something along those lines

ah thanks loads that slipped my mind and well with the graphics card lets assume that it will fit, is there any point regarding my current specs?
ive got a xp media centre
3gb ram
and the rest is above

thanks again :D

The spec is fine. U can always shift the card into another system next year if you decide to get another machine. Again all depends what your doin. If playing games and surfing and run of the mill general PC stuff is about it you fine :)

hmm its seems pretty good then, are there any other graphics cards that i can use assuming that the max of my psu is 400w considering that 305w is the median??

thanks in advance :)

edit: i know this is stupid but ive just realised that im the 90000 member (the profile number is that anyway:p)
