I have a very old PC that only uses Zone Alarm. I'v never had a
problem with viruses, but my PC guy flushed some out a while ago when
he did some work on it.

Anyway, I'm getting a new PC soon. Everything on my old PC will be
dumped to CD for easy transfer.

Will this mean that any potential viruses will come along for the
ride? Should I perform an antivirus sweep of the CD prior to importing
into new PC? Can that even be done?

How many anit-virus /sypware / email checkers / etc...software
products does an excellent setup contain?

Thanks

Yes potential viruses may be imported along with everything else.
Install a good antivirus program on your new computer before you move
anything over. A good antivirus program will check the CD before allowing
the transfer to proceed.
Certainly it can be done.

One antivirus program, two spyware/adware programs, and a software firewall
should be present.
I am not in the recommending business about which products to use.
