Hello
had this comp for awhile now its almost 3-4 years old its a p3 733
128ram g force32

got it out of storage plugged it in and nothing happend no beep's n
lights no sound nothing except for the monitor(this monitor is
plugged into the back of the computer power supply doesn't have its
own power socket in the wall ) which goes into stand by mode and
thats it.
i've gone into in and secured any loose connections there might of
been(didn't notice any)took out most of the the computer parts out
to no effect so i'm thinking it must be the mobo cause if the cpu
fails least u get the blue screen of death yeh? and it couldn't be
the power supply because its feeding the monitor power? could it be
the cmos battery i've never had one run out on me before.

thanks for your time

excuse the bad english

A first guess would be that the power switch has been damaged. If you
can trace the lead from the power switch to the motherboard, you can
temporarily remove the lead from the mobo and jump the two pins
together momentarily with something metal, like a small screwdriver.
This should power up the machine. If not, you may have a bad power
supply (just because it supplies AC power to the monitor doesn't mean
it's any good). It could also be any of a number of other things as
well, including a bad CPU.

Nope, dead CPU = black screen of death.

It could still be the power supply. The plug the monitor is in could
just be a passive connection that would still work.

Did you check the rocker switch on the back of the CPU?
