hi i upgraded to xp and dont like the new scurity setings on files ge
where you can chaneg permitions is there any way to get this feture
back

Assuming you're reffering to the Security tab, for XP Pro, in Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, View. Scroll down and uncheck Use Simple File Sharing.

For XP Home, the Security tab can only be accessed in Safe Mode.

xp home ou must do this:

When using pro you must open folder options go to view and turn off
"Use simple file sharing"
