Hey there,

I'm running a windows 2008 server, and i'm trying to download emails from
the pop3 server. however I cannot seem to , I've disabled all firewalls as
well as antivirus to see if they were the problem, there is no change.

If I move all the files out of the inbox (through webmail) the send/reiceve
completes fine with no errors. If I move any small files back to the inbox
one at a time, they successfully download. If I send a new file that's small
it goes through, but if I send something with an attachment it hangs

If things work when NOT using Win2k8 and fail when using it, logically it
would seem a Win2k8 problem, not an Outlook problem.

or something installed on win2k8 - like anti virus scanning incoming email.

right, but history shows, this was a known problem in outlook 2002. where
outlook was the problem. I'm simply exploring all the options right now
because honestly. i've disabled anything I can think of in windows2008 that
could prevent it from coming through. I've got nothing else short of
downgrading back to an older version of outlook

in ol2002, the cause was the mail server requiring both SSL and SPA and
outlook 2002 didn't support it.

well i've paid the $295 for microsoft support, and i've been on hold with
them for more then 2 hours so far and they haven't been able to figure it
out yet.. they are solely focusing on the email though.. I've suggested they
get somebody in win2k8 security, but they aren't having any part of it..
<sigh>
