Got the following after importing an OL2000 PST file into
an OL2003 PST.

You only have 3751179 bytes left in your mailbox. (Your
mailbox quota is 15360000 bytes.) To fix this situation,
you should delete some of the mail in your mailbox.

I created a new PST in OL2003 and imported the OL2000's
data into it. It doesn't appear as a 97-2002 PST in the
properties either. I'm looking for the 20GB limit here.
Can anyone tell me what could be making it default to a
smaller limit? Thanks!

We are also experiencing difficulties with mailbox sizes (Outlook 2002 and
Exchange Server).

We have increased a user's mailbox size to 250MB although the user only (!)
has 107MB used. He is getting error messages telling him he should reduce
his mailbox size.

Any ideas?

Well Paul, I'm not using Exchange in this instance but for
your delima, have you looked into any policies overriding
the limits, etc. set for that particular mailbox? That's
usually the deal when it appears cleaned out but messages
still appear telling you it's not. Look for conflicting
policies and the limits (if any) set directly to that
users' mailbox.

Thanks for highjacking my thread.

Sorry for hijacking Nick's thread, but I guess it's a default policy
somewhere. My question is, where?

Paul

Although the user may "think" they have deleted emails (for exchange
storage), it will keep and exchange also counts the messages in the "deleted
Items" folder. You also have to empty that folder as well. One way to
figure out where the bulk of your messages are is to right click the
"Mailbox" root folder>go to Properties> and click "folder size". This will
give you a breakdown of where your most conjested email folder is. Hope
that helps.
