OL2003 Find using IMAP Folders

I am trying to create a seach folder using the find
function with selected folders within an IMAP message
store. What I do is specify the IMAP folders I want to
use, click "Find Now" and nothing happens. Additionally,
when I click Options, the "Save Search as Search Folder"
is greyed out. As nearly as I can tell, the find function
doesn't work with IMAP folders (selecting multiple
folders). Of course, this could just be operator error (I
hope). Can anyone provide direction here.

A bit of clarification is in order. I exhibit this
problem only when the "look for" field is blank. What I
am try to do is search for all messages in two or more
different IMAP folders and then sort by conversation.
This works fine (leaving the "look for" blank) when the
folders in which I want to query are local (i.e. folders
within the "Personal Folders").
