OL2003 - expired msgs not expiring!

Outlook 2003 connected to Exchange 2003 - got a msg set to expire.
However, the message was still accessible & viewable after the
expiration date. I got another new message that had already expired
by the time I opened my inbox in the morning; I was still able to read
it. Is Exchange/Outlook expiring simply flakey now w/the new cached
mode? (Tracking seems to be hit-or-miss also!)

IIRC, expired messages are still available unless they were sent with
Windows Rights Management permissions.

You recall correctly. By default the message will appear with a strike
through font then.

Thanks for the reply. Another question, does that mean that both PCs
need the RightsMgmt client installed? One is XP, and one is W2k SP4
(w/Rights client). The originator of the "to-be-expired" msg was the
XP client. On a side, does having the Rights client installed affect
tracking reliability?

Yes, both systems would need the RM client and would need to be running
Outlook 2003. IMO, this is one of the cooler features of RM.

That's an interesting Q about tracking. Obviously, it wouldn't make any
difference for delivery receipts, but read receipts might be a different
matter. I'll have to test that scenario.
