OL2003 connection to Exchange 5.5 intermittent

Just installed Outlook 2003 on a Dell Latitude D600 with
Windows XP. Our email server is running Exchange 5.5 sp4
on Windows NT 4 sp6a. Outlook will only connect on the
second try after launching and runs slowly. The
connection is intermittent - connection to the Exchange
server drops out every couple of minutes. Lan access is
not a problem outside of Outlook. IE accesses the
Internet without interruption, LAN resources are always
available, including the server running Exchange (as a
file server). Any suggestions? Thanks.
 
did u get the problem fixed.Im experiencing the same problem. and i cant figure it out either if you get any response let me know thanks

Same problem client Windows2000 sp4 exchange server 5.5.. Jus
installed Office2003 Professional over Office2000 professional.. No jo
connecting to Exchange serve
