OL shows two Identical personal folders

When I open outlook it now displays two identical personal
folders. I can not close either one. This began happening
when I was using MS back-up for pst files. Both of these
folders show identical info even from new downloaded
emails. Is there a way to fix this? Using OL 2002 on XP
Home.

Recreate your Outlook Profile in Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

If you've got some regedit experience look for multiple entries of the
folder in the a subkey of the following key;
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles]
