I'm thinking of buying an Okidata 5300 color laser printer.

Anyone want to talk me out of it before I make the plunge?

Thanks, Richard

I have the 5100 and I like it. Before we can make any judegement, we have to
know what you intend to use the color laser for?

Leo, I have no special application for the printer other than general
purpose "Duplex" color printing. I don't need photo quality, I have
a Canon S9000 for that. I have a HP G85 w/duplexer, networked on my
wife's computer but it takes so long to print duplex because it has to
wait for the ink to dry before printing the reverse side. Postscript
will come in handy on occasion.

At $130 per color, the toner is a bit expensive. Do you find the
printer to be a toner hog w/general printing?

Thanks for your reply,

Richard

One other thing - - - If quality is good enough, I will probably print
some greeting cards on the 5300.

I don't know about your standard but for me, it would be good enough for
greeting card. I bought all 4 toners for $330 or so. Check pricegrabber.com.
I don't print enough color pages to tell you how long the toners will last
but I wouldn't hesitate to print anything (yet). The black toner is very
cheap comparing to my old b/w laser.
