I have just purchased a OKI c5100n colour laser printer and I have a problem
after installing the printer driver on Win2000 SP4.

When I bring up the Properties window, the "Device Settings" tab just has
question marks instead of those two words. All text within it is also
"??????". All other tabs are ok. Furthermore, the Printing Preferences
window also shows "??????" in all tabs, buttons and text fields. I have
tried deleting and re-installing the driver and also installing an updated
driver from the OKI website all to no effect.

The language is English.

Have also purchased recently and have no trouble on XP. I understand c5100
is a windows printer. Looks like some slight incompatibility with W2k is the
problem. Could it actually be a font problem? could the Oki driver be asking
W2k to display a font which is not standard in W2k. Could also be trying to
use DLL which is missing or different. PRCview might be the answer there as
it tells which resources are loaded for each process running including
version numbers. If you were to duplicate your problem, run prcview to find
out what it is running and then see if different versions might solve
problem
