Okay... how 'bout this?

So, Symantec needs to do their work to get NIS to work
with Outlook's new SP3, how 'bout Palm??? Just tried to
hot synch and it won't do that either because of
this "access" problem. I can't even elect to "allow" my
Plan to "access" Outlook so it can synchronize my
calendar and contacts, Outlook just locks up. This
really is pretty unacceptable. Now I have to wait for
Symantec to play catch up and Palm as well.

Anybody else have a problem with this??? I have a BIG
one with it! I have more to do with my day than put up
with this garbage. Or learn how to "re-code" Outlook.
I'm not a programmer, just a person trying to get some
work done.

Do you have the latest palm software? They updated their software after
Outlook 2003 was released... if you do have the latest palm software,
contact palm support so they are aware of the problem (and post back so
others are aware of what works and what doesn't).

As I become aware of programs affected by this patch, I'll update the list
at http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2002sp3.htm#problems

Yes, I have the latest version of the Palm OS software, I
am very religious about keeping things up to date. Wish
I hadn't been in this case since this SP3 install is
causing nothing but problems.

I've updated/upgraded Windows and Office products for
more than 23 years and have never had a problem like
this. Security is great but this is pushing it a bit
far.

I still fail to see how MS could be so shortsighted.....

I have sent an e-mail to Palm, I'm sure they'll be happy
to know, if they don't already, that millions of Palm
users around the world who have installed SP3 can no
longer hot sync their Palms. This is ridiculous.

Doesn't MS test this stuff before spewing it out to the
public? Not mad at you, of course, I DO appreciate your
replies, but you have to admit this is BS.

It's hard enough sometimes getting a Palm hooked up to
snyc properly without having to deal with this. I'm not
a programmer or anything close nor do I enjoy taking
hours out of my work day trying to troubleshoot problems
that should not have occured in the first place. Can't
wait to see what happens next... If I put this "patch"
on a tire, I'd still have a flat.

Gary:

I'm all up to date on my Palm, it's an MS SP3 problem
from I've been told and am reading on here.

Thanks for your reply!

What type of Palm are you using? There are two upgrades
available, one for T units and the others use Chapura
Pocket Mirror Ver 3.1. My M505 wouldn't sync with Outlok
2003 until I upgraded the Pocket Mirror patch. N it works
great!:)
