OK to run PC 2700 DDR at 200 FSB?

I am doing this and not running into errors...

With stock cooling, should I push it above 2100?

Will I need to up the voltages?

This stuff is so confusing...

Thanx,

If you can run Memtest or other diagnostics without errors, no need to
increase the voltage. Just consider yourself lucky you have some good ram.

Your RAM seems to be working fantastic according to your previous post.
If you want to jump to a 11.0 multiplier you'll first need something
better than stock cooling and then a little bump in the Vcore. Make sure
your AGP Freq. is set for 66 MHz (not Auto) in BIOS. My system, like
yours, wouldn't post into WinXP at 11.0 until I did exactly that. 10.5
and stock was no problem booting but got awfully hot using Prime95.
Might be a good idea to get a little stronger PS based on your previous
post. What wattage do you have now and how many Amps on the +5v rail?

Your ram might be underrated. Which brand is it ? twinmos with winbond
chips ? single sided ?

I run 190 with some crucial pc2700 ram. I read some reviews that this
is max. for them. So I have same time and trouble and runs them so
from the first moment.

Well most likely the board is lowering your CAS latencies are the like to
the most conservative possible, allowing your RAM to run at PC3200 speed.

If you got your PC2700 before the PC3200 spec existed, it's actually quite
likely that it will be okay at PC3200 - such is the nature of RAM. I had a
PC100 stick that happily did 140 MHz without reducing timings, but if I had
got a PC100 stick once PC133 spec was out, you can pretty much bet it
wouldn't have been able to hack much above 110 MHz.

I went to the version 1007 on the BIOS, from 4, I with the same settings, It
kept on failing my memory, forcing me to clear the CMOS.

I went back to the 1004 BIOS, and am back to square as far as POSTing. I am
getting the previous specs, and better cooling (about the same ambient, but
showing a higher MB temp?).

I don't recall what brand of memory I have on board.

A diagnostic tool as Sandra will tell you, as a rule (depending on
your mainboard chip).
