MS Anti Spyware did a good job of finding/removing
spyware. The searchmiracle ads keep coming back I am
suspecting from the same thing that creates the
ohbbackup folder in the registry, each time computer is
booted up.

Anyone know where the "thing" is?

Thanks Jim

Hello Jim;
See if this can help you:
View the threat locations detected

You can view all the locations that belong to the detected
threat. Threat locations are the files, folders and
registry keys that a threat has installed on your
computer. When you delete or quarantine a threat all of
these locations are removed from your computer. To find
out more information about these locations, expand the
locations by clicking the + plus icon or View all detected
locations... under the description of the threat.

View a description of the threat

To view a detailed description of the threat, click on the
threat in the list, this highlights the selected threat
and displays more information. To retrieve further
information such as a detailed description, threat alias
names, security and stability information, and the
threat's author, click Learn more about this Threat... in
the bottom of the threat description section. This opens
up a new window with this information.

Hi Jim

I suspect it is in your local profile, under c:\documents and settings\{use
name}\local settings......... from explorer go to view and allow view of
system files.
go to the local settings folder, these files usually hide in there,
sometimes they are In use and can't be removed, restart in safe mode with
network so you can scan for viruses online from www.housecall.trendmicro.com
and delete those infected files manually, also run the av and spyware
remover while in safe mode, it should work ok afterwards... Don't forget
your startup programs (msconfig) so u can clear them off from
reloading/recreating once you reboot again.

Mike.
