Where the offline pages on the harddisk are stored???
I explored all the directories on my HD after booting to DOS, but couldn't
find the saved pages!!

Where could THEY BE?

Thanks

Hi Kamy :-)

Not very techincal, but, what I use for finding things I don't know the
location for; if you can remember the name of one of the items you saved,
run a Search for it by that name (Start>Search), or even a word in the name,
and see where it turns up. Then you note where they're saved.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)

Thank you Jan,
I did what you adviced me to do...in vain, (sorry).

What I need is to know where IE stores the offline pages so I can copy them
to another PC.

I added to 'favorite' a website with make available offline checkbox
checked, so I browse lot of pages offline.

Since the procedure to download these pages is somewhat long, I do not want
to repeat it on another computer that I use in different place.
Because I can read the pages and their links offline, they should be
somewhere on the harddisdk, right?!!
WELL ... I can not Find them , (SCREAMMMMMMMM)!!!!

Hi Kamy :-)

I don't have XP, so I can't run a Search and see if I can find them, but,
I'll try to run down so info. In the mean time, you might want to look at
this file, which will tell you how to configure how YOU want to store them,
then you will know where they are. :-)

Even though it says Professional, I don't know if it is the same in Home.

Also, have you checked >User name>Local Settings>Temp folders? I would think
it would be somewhere in your User folders. That is why I suggested the
Search, if you could think of the name or wording in one of the files you
saved, then it might show where the file was saved, then you would know
there the rest were.

Also, check your History files, or Recent files, if you have been to any
recently. then access then and wave them again after you have set up your
Offline folder.

Perhaps someone else can provide more information, but, there surely is a
default folder for them to be saved, and that is most likely your Temp
folder.

Sorry I can provide more specific information, but, try the Temp folder for
sure. And do a Search on a word or name in one of the files that you know
for sure. That might help home in on them.

Hope this helps
