I am unable it seems to receive any offline messages. I can send them
sucessfully to my best mate, but when she sends them to me they dont appear
when I next sign in. I have the button checked to show them when I sign in
and I also have log my chats checked, as in yahoo messenger this needs to be
activated for offlines to work. I am also running windows live plus. Is there
anything I'm missing or is this a problem with the messenger? Please help as
offlines would be very useful to me.

1. The Windows Live Messenger service may be experiencing temporary
connectivity issues. To verify the status of the Windows Live Messenger
service, visit http://messenger.msn.com/Status.aspx.

2. Try to sign in again later.

3. If the issue persists, follow these steps to clear the Windows Live
Messenger cache:
a. If Windows Live Messenger is running, right-click the Messenger icon in
the notification area at the far right of the taskbar, and then click "Exit."
b. Open a Command Prompt window:
- On Microsoft Windows 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000, click "Start,"
click "Run," type "cmd," and then click "OK."
- On Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition, click "Start," click "Run,"
type "command," and then click "OK."

c. At the command prompt, type "CD\", and then press ENTER.
d. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
CD %appdata%\microsoft
e. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
CD "MSN MESSENGER"
f. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
DEL /s ListCache.dat

Note: This command deletes all the ListCache.dat files in all subfolders.
You may see a list of the files that are being deleted.

g. At the command prompt, type "exit", and then press ENTER.
h. Restart Messenger.

4. If the issue persists, send us a connection log file.

A. Install the latest version of Windows Live Messenger:
i. Go to http://get.live.com/messenger/overview
ii. Click on the "Get it free" or “Download Now†button and step through the
wizard to install Windows Live Messenger.

B. To generate connectivity logs for Windows Live Messenger, follow these
steps:
i. Right-click the Windows Live Messenger icon in the notification area at
the far right of the taskbar, and then click "Exit."
ii. Delete the already existing connection log file.

a. Start Windows Live Messenger, but do not sign in.
b. On the Windows Live Messenger "File" menu, click "Open Received Files."
c. In the My Received Files folder, locate and select the MsnMsgr.txt file,
and then press DELETE

Thank you Mohamed, I cleared my laptops messenger cache and the one on the
desktop and tried sending myself an offline from my daughters account, and it
worked. I'm now having problems sending them!!! but am putting that down to
msn connection probs for the time being, as I know a lot of people are
currently having probs with messenger and groups! Thanks for you help, much
appreciated. Gillian

Ok correction, I've just sucessfully sent them to my daughter and my best
