Offline Folders

When I try to make user's personal folder (\\server\users\
%username%) to be available offline, which is mapped as P
on client stations, I get the error message "ACCESS
DENIED". May be because user doesn't have access to main
USERS folder. Whats the best way to resolve this, if I
don't want to recreate user's folder on root.
 
They have necessary permissions, thats how they work in
their folders. Problem comes, when I try to make them
available offline
 
Are you a sys admin or IT tech authrized to create policies?
If so, your domain settings can also affect whether your users can use files offline. Under the Network settings of your MMC for your domain policies, you can configure Offline Files accessibility for Users and for Computers. These take precendence over any other network settings.

Thanks for the reply. On my W2K server. I have a common
shared folder, where "EVERYONE" has access. I can make it
available offline without any problems. Fortunately, all
the users have their own folder under this common folder,
and they only work in their own folder so I never got the
situation where more than one is making changes while it
is offline. On the same server, there is folder "USERS"
and all the users have their own folder underneath it and
each user only himself/herself have access to it. This
folder is mapped as P drive on all workstations. When I
try making P drive available offline, it doesn't work. I
guess because no users have access to "USERS" folders but
they access to their own folder under it. But at the same
time, they can work in it online. Any idea what's going on?
