I have been using offline folders to synchronize some of
the files on our file server, and it has been working
seamlessly. I hardly pay attention to whether I'm online
or off because the files show up in the same folders as if
I were connected to the server. But recently, the file
server died and the files were copied to a different
server with a different name. As long as offline folders
are enabled, the old server still appears in Windows
Explorer. I can disconnect from the network drive, but it
lets me connect right back up to the drive, even though it
doesn't exist. And even when the drive is disconnected, I
can still get to it through Open and Save dialog boxed in
Office. I have been able to delete the files from this
imaginary drive, but it tells me that I have to be
connected to the server to delete the folders. How can I
get rid of this drive that doesn't really exist? I don't
want to accidentally save something there instead of the
real file server.
Thanks for your help.
