Offline folders problem

I have been using offline folders to synchronize some of
the files on our file server, and it has been working
seamlessly. I hardly pay attention to whether I'm online
or off because the files show up in the same folders as if
I were connected to the server. But recently, the file
server died and the files were copied to a different
server with a different name. As long as offline folders
are enabled, the old server still appears in Windows
Explorer. I can disconnect from the network drive, but it
lets me connect right back up to the drive, even though it
doesn't exist. And even when the drive is disconnected, I
can still get to it through Open and Save dialog boxed in
Office. I have been able to delete the files from this
imaginary drive, but it tells me that I have to be
connected to the server to delete the folders. How can I
get rid of this drive that doesn't really exist? I don't
want to accidentally save something there instead of the
real file server.

Thanks for your help.

You will need to reinitialize the cache... See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=230738 for information on how to do
this... Make sure you resyncronize your content before doing this as
it will reset all of your offline folders and you will need to
re-enable the offline files/folders after performing this task.
