Offline folders and standby

Hi,

I have an issue with offline folders on a laptop computer.

This is my boss laptop. He needs to have offline folders, and so, I set it
up for him.

But the problem is that when the laptop, while connected to the network,
goes standby, the network adapter loses connection and offline folders
becomes active.

We don't want this to happen this way. We'd like offline folders don't
activate when going stanby.

Does anybody find a similar situation and how it was solved?

Thanks everybody,

Alex.

I /think/ there's an option in Offline Files settings to never go off line
when connected, or something like that...

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for your help.

Bu the problem is that when the laptop goes standby, the network adapter
gets disconnected. So Offline folders activates.

I'd like to know if there is any way to avoid the laptop go standby. I'll
check the bios settings, because I've alredy check on control panel
settings.

Thanks,

Alex.

Where in the control panel did you check settings? (It's normally under
Power Management)

Go in to the Network Connections and right-click on the network
connection then click on Properties. Click on the Configure button for
the network adapter and then click on the Power Management button and
change the setting allowing the computer to turn off the adapter.

Hi,

Yes, I looked in there. Set up to never go to Standby.

It's a Windows XP SP2, and the application is Offline folders.

There's no error, but an issue with offline folders: don't want to be active
when go to standby.

Thanks,

Alex.

Hi John,

I already done it, sorry for not having specified it on my first mail.

Thanks,

Alex.
