offline folder problem

hi newsgroup!

I have a user with a winxp notebook in a domain with a win2000 (sp4-server)
.. This users synchronizes with his personal folder on the server
\\server\users\username -> drive z:

The drive z is marked for offline use and synchronization is going well. The
problem ist that if i put away the wireless card (or deactivate the
connection) it is not possible to access the drive z.

Doese anyone know what's going on?

This product seems to be good - but my user does not want to spend any extra
money for a software - do you also have a solution for my problem?

No, because I have had too many problems with offline files ever to bother
with them again. I don't think $29 is excessive for shareware that works
well. There is a free 30-day eval (fully functional) available for download,
btw.

Perhaps someone else will have more answers to the offline files problem,
but it won't be me :-)

OT, but check out www.centered.com - I think their product is a LOT
better than offline files.
