I am trying to implement offline files with a system and
laptop running Window XP Professional.
The files appear to be transferred to the laptop OK, but
the folder/sub-folder structure is not present in
the "offline files" area of the laptop. We are using a
master directory with up to 4 layers of sub-directories.
The lack of a directory structure makes it extremely
difficult to locate the necessary files on the laptop.

Any suggestions gladly accepted.

Subfolders are not automatically made available offline. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=262090 for information on how to
enable subfolders.

If by chance you are talking about the make a short cut to offline files
that is but on the desk top disregard this as it the cash folder
just access the files and folders in the same way as if you were on the
network
and the folders and subfolders will be there

hope this is of some help

I am here searching for an answer to the same problem. I
work for an engineering firm, and my users want to have
job documents available when they travel. It's vital that
the individual job folders and their subfolders remain
intact. If anyone knows how to make offline files retain
their folder structure, please post a reply.

Note: As an engineer myself, please be careful with offline files and
project files if you use one of the Autodesk vertical products... I
use LDD (as a Civil Engineer), which has many MDB files that will not
be made available offline....
