Would anyone know how to use offline files with a pendrive?

Offlines files would be a great way for me to keep a synchronised backup of
my pendrive on my home pc

problem - Offline files option only work with networked drives/files (which
seems a great shame) - my pendrive (usb portable drive) is not considered
networked by Win2K

I have even mapped my pendrive as a network (drive I:) - alas the "Make
Available offline" option is still not present (so it must know i'm cheating
:o)

any thoughts how i might fool win2k into thinking my detachable usb drive is
part of a remote network?

p.s. i have tried using the briefcase method but it screws up databases (of
which i have too many to risk)

Look into www.centered.com - Second Copy.
